Watched a lot of Clasic Who, attached myself to the Fifth Doctor. And I love Four and Eight too. And Jamie, because I've got a kilt fetish. And a Scot fetish. And he was just so damn cute. I'm going to have to like, Netflix a bunch of that stuff this summer. And redo my scarf so I can actually wear it.

I've been ITCHING to make vids. And to write Who fic, because there's nothing good online.

I am so ready for this term to be over.

I really have no color sense, so it took me a long time to come up with this scheme. I like it, and I'm thinking I'll keep it for fall and change it back to blue for the winter.

SPEAKING OF FALL: It is my favorite season of the year, and since I started school in Eugene I don't get to enjoy the full effects at home like I used to. There's no smell of apples, somebody keeps blowing the leaves off the sidewalks (and I really wish they wouldn't; leaf imprint patterns look so cool later), and I'm usually too busy to notice how fall it is anyway. And really, it's a city, albeit a small one, and seasons are different in cities. While I do like having everything I need within the range of a brisk walk or a bus trip, I don't think I'll live in a city again when I finish school (whenever that may be). I like the peace and the quiet and the fresh air of the country too much. I'll deal with the isolation and how creepy it gets at night. I've been doing that all my life.

It looks like I'm coming up on watching Doctor Who S2 for the second time in as many weeks (although probably this time with the commentary tracks on). Jessica really wants to see Atlantis when we get back and I'm only too happy to oblige. As soon as we finish that (as well as the final two episodes of Firefly) I'm getting her addicted to the Doctor.

Who! Who!

Holy buckets.

Somethow I managed to miss half the X-Files episodes that made the show absolutely incredible. The other half I managed not to pay attention to when I saw them about once. How, how could I not have seen The Field Where I Died? And Amor Fati? I almost died. This show is amazing me on levels I had no idea it had. I used to prefer the little episodes, the onesies, with the weird things they went off hunting, but now that I understand the colonization storyline more fully, I'm beginning to really like it. The fact that Mulder's special just sends me bouncing off the walls (that sort of thing appeals to me just a bit). And according to imdb, there's another movie in the making and I am so freaking excited. The date is 2009. Unfortunately. I want to see Mulder save the world, by god, and I'm not going to miss this one in the theater. I still can't believe I missed the last one.

I'm in season 7 now.

Also, today I finished my Doctor Who scarf! Finally! I smell a Halloween costume.

What the hell? Eight textbooks for  three classes? I remember when history classes just had history books.

I am watching X-Files again. It was a joke when I said it, but I'm in a knitting frenzy and I a) don't want to watch anything I have, b) am having to wait between discs of Homicide from Netflix, and c) can only take so much of BtVS at a time. That show is pretty cheesy. Firefly really was so much better. An added bonus of X-Files is that I'm familiar enough with the episodes that I know more or less which ones Mulder gets the crap kicked out of him, and I can just listen the rest of the time. That man was whumped on a lavel almost unequaled in fandom.

My scarf is MONSTER long and approaching 8 feet if it hasn't reached it already. I desperately want to finish before I go back to Eugene because my free time will disappear fast. I've been working on it so much that I've developed a sore shoulder from throwing the yarn over the end of the needle. Injuries from knitting are possible. And they don't have to involve stabbing yourself.

Damned if it isn't the summer of forgotten fandoms.

Homicide. Damn. Mom and Dad rented the first season when Mom had the carpal tunnel in one hand fixed, and we sort of got hooked. Again. Nothing puts a show in perspective when you watch it all in chronological order. Even when you've already seen every episode. And dammit, I missed Tim Bayliss like hell. As far as shows go, this one is perhaps one of my top ten ever. Same with my favorite character. He's not perfect, but that's part of the greatness of the show: it was realistic. Not to mention guest stars everybody from Elijah Wood to Bruce Campbell. The one thing about him that pissed me off most was Tim's now-and-again shaving of his head, like another favorite I could name. *coughNICKYcough* (Both in fifth season! He's got Bayliss-pattern baldness.) Speaking of which, I could watch some CSI again one of these days.

ReBoot. You've already heard this story. And I fell out again as soon as I heard it was coming back. Ironic.

ElfQuest. It was going pretty well until the Homicide binge. It's on hold temporarily (I hope). It pisses me the hell off that the one I most want to read is so rare these days that there's only ONE COPY for sale on the internet, period. And it's over two hundred bucks. The only other one I could find at all is at Eugene Public Library, which means I'm getting a card when I go back this September.

If things keep going like this, I'll probably start watching X-Files again (also known as My Deadest Addiction Ever).

Fandoms that are shiny and new for me this year:

Buffy (In and out. Mostly out. I like most of the characters, but I'm having trouble staying focused for long. I always try to watch it when I'm hooked on something else.)
Twin Peaks (I hooked Erica too! Now I have somebody to talk about it with)
Doctor Who (is it Christmas yet??)
I also watched half a dozen episodes of 21 Jump Street, but that didn't really go anywhere. Consider it marked defunct.
And I'm TRYING to watch Sanctuary.

I did NOT get around to reading the entire Harry Potter series. Maybe next year. Or this winter. Who the hell knows. I also do not yet have a copy of Stargate season 10, but I haven't been in a hurry to get at it. I finally saw the last episode. Man, that was weird. Just like everybody said.

My DW scarf is at least 6 feet long, and almost halfway done.

"Your ass is mine, Higby!"
"Screw you, Bayliss!

OMG I have Okk hair.

My ReBoot DVDs are, apparently, out of print and rare enough to be worth well over a hundred dollars each on Amazon. And that's the starting price. One goes up to $300 (!). Never buy anything out of print from Amazon. You'll most likely find it cheaper someplace else. I bought each of those DVDs at Suncoast for $15 a couple of years back. There is, by the way, no way in HELL I'm selling them. I'm on a serious ReBoot rebound right now, which will change in a few days -- hopefully only temporarily, so I can get back to work on the fic I've wanted to do for like, five years.

OMG BY THE WAY I tried to read the ReBoot fics I wrote in 2002, when I first started writing fanfic EVER and DEAR GOD it was traumatic. I've wanted for ages to rewrite them, but if I can't bring myself to read them that might be a problem. I may have to start from scratch and my sketchy memories.

Production has stalled on my Doctor Who scarf. Instead I've been giving myself eyestrain staring at computer screens all day, which means that if I can't get rid of it by Saturday, I'm going to have to read Deathly Hallows with a microscope.

Harry's going to live, dammit. I can believe that for another three days, at least.

One month until Deathly Hallows.
One day until the last Stargate SG-1 episode ever. But I won't get to see it then.

My muse is stalking me but I don't have anything ready to write. I just finished a Prisoner of Azkaban video to Nightwish's Moondance, which I was working on until three in the morning, and it rocks. My allergies suck today. I have my Doctor Who (yay!) and I've been watching a little each day, but it's going to end on Doomsday and that will make me sad. I really miss season three.

I want to make the 14-odd-foot Fourth Doctor scarf when I've finished with the Gryffindor. I'm going to need a bigger basket.
