Ozomatli played at my school tonight. I think they're famous, or something. It wasn't really my kind of music, but I went anyway because I'd never been to a real concert and I figured that, no matter what the music, seeing it live is different. There was very loud music, lots of yelling, and absolutely no concept of personal space. I couldn't see the stage very well, but at the end they had students dancing on it. It was enjoyable, but I would have had more fun if they'd been Smashing Pumpkins or somebody I like. Hopefully the rest of my hearing will return by tomorrow. I would have gone to Freebies at Freddie's afterwards but I decided I had enough fun for one night. And my back was freaking sore.

At the concert I ran into a guy I used to work with who goes here. It was oh so nice to see a familiar face.

I tried to take a nap this afternoon but only managed a semi-meditative state. It did refresh a little. I got some sleep last night, but not enough. Slowly getting used to this.

There are like, thirty people in this dorm with iTunes. And I can never get on anybody's music.

There's a HUGE television in the basement of my dorm, (also pool and ping pong tables) and after the hall meeting I watched Family Guy with a bunch of other people. It was sooo much fun. It looks like I might be able to watch some of my shows without having a TV in my room, because several people there seemed excited about new shows starting. Watching stuff in a group is so different. I like it. During the meeting everybody introdused him or herself. There are about a dozen Japanese kids, four or five Koreans, two or three from Taiwan, a couple from Singapore (including the RA on my floor, but his English is so good I wouldn't have known), two English boys (askls;fie;kj!!!), one Australian, one from China (I think) and a guy whose nationality I didn't catch but I think is something Slavic. Nobody else is majoring in Medieval Studies.

Today was the convocation thing, and our speaker was some famous poet. The dude was funny. He had a deadpan humor thing going really well. It was pretty enjoyable, even if the chairs in the stadium were built my munchkins. (Seriously, my knees were hitting the back of the next row and I am NOT tall.)

Tomorrow classes start. With the moving, and all the new stuff that goes with living in a dorm, I haven't had all that much time to think about the school part. I only have two classes tomorrow, but I have an interview like two hours earlier (which sucks, because I don't get to sleep in).

Last night I got some SLEEP! Finally! Only about seven hours at the most, but it was honest-to-god sleep. I was so happy just to wake up this morning. To put a cherry on top I woke up to the most musical train horn I have ever heard.
