Yesterday I saw Cloverfield, which was freaky and kind of awesome. There was a teaser for Star Trek and a trailer for Hellboy II, which I'm going to have to see now even if Jonh Myers isn't in it. With any luck, they'll make a third and he'll be available that time. The movie just looks too freaking awesome to miss. Also there was a promo for Iron Man, which looked neat.
I'm totally on a Numb3rs kick and by the end of this week I should have both of the first two seasons. David Krumholtz is like the hottest guy on earth to me at the moment. Rob Morrow ain't so bad either.
On a slightly related subject, I'm thinking of getting a second bachelors degree, possibly in mathematics.

Sep. 30th, 2006 11:18 pmIt's the last hour of September 2006. Today I watched some Star Trek, bought some stuff I needed, saw my lovely friend Delaney, and did no homework. I'm taking my old backpack to school because my newer one, though it is very nice and has so many pockets, is too big and heavy. The old one doesn't have as many pockets as I'd prefer, but at least I can carry it. Maybe I'll shop around for a new one. Anybody want to buy a Swiss Army laptop-convertible backpack, hardly used? Strong shoulders and back recommended.
I brought the box home that my textbooks came in intending to fit my Stargate collection to take it back to school. But no matter how I arrange them, I can't fit all of them in the box without one sticking out a bit. A little tape ought to fix that.

Sep. 20th, 2006 05:46 pmIt's my last night at home. It feels different here; maybe it's just the overpacked bags cluttering up my floor, the spaces on my walls where posters are missing (actually, they fell off, but I didn't see the point in putting them back up), or how empty my dresser top looks. It seems I'm leaving at exactly the right time as well, because there's a noisy mouse in my ceiling and my bed's starting to fall apart (nothing dirty, I assure you).
I have found some hilarious Star Trek stuff on YouTube. For instance, scenes from Who Mourns for Adonais with the dialogue from the first French Knight scene in Monty Python's Holy Grail. The Firm's "Star Trekkin'" song, both the original video (which is just creepy) and with TOS scenes. Not to mention a Kirk/Spock NIN's "Closer" music video that's to die for (if you're into that sort of stuff).
*pure energy*
Here I am in silence
Looking round without a clue
I found myself along again
All alone with you
I can see behind your eyes
The things that I don't know
If you hide away from me
How can our love grow?
I wanna know
What you're thinking
There are some things you can't hide
I wanna know
What you're feeling
Tell me what's on your mind
I know I could break you down
But what good would it do
I could surely never know
That what you say is true
Here I am in silence
It's a game I have to play
You and I in silence
With nothing else to say
I wanna know
What you're thinking
There are some things you can't hide
I wanna know
What you're feeling
Tell me what's on your mind

I listened to this song a lot when I was a kid (had it on a Cocoa Puffs hits tape, or something). Recently I heard it again and I've missed it. By the way, it's Spock who says "Pure energy energy energy" (echo).
I will describe my dorm and moving experience in detail tomorrow whether you like it or NOT! (Assuming I can get my computer interned-connected by then.)

The Star Trek bug has bitten me hard...again (let's call it my ten-year itch). I can't seem to get enough of it, especially the old series. I really want all of it (movies too) on DVD now. I've fallen in love with Kirk and Spock. (Well, at least now I have somebody to watch when Chekov's not around!) I never really realized before just how good the stories were in the episodes. I think everybody's fabulous. I love the shirt-ripping and the fight music and Spock's occasional emotional outbursts too. The end of Star Trek II didn't used to make me cry, and it's possible that it hits a little close to home with a (suspiciously) similar temporary death of a favorite character from another series (Daniel Jackson in SG-1, season 5), or maybe I just like the characters more. Either way, the whole thing is far more emotional for me now than it ever was before.
I've decided not to watch the summer finales of Stargate, at least not until March when they wrap up the cliffhangers. There's a possibility of not catching up until the DVD set comes out in a year. That's gonna suck. I haven't missed an episode in two years.
Got my car back! It looks great. The decal guy was able to reproduce the stripes on the door so I didn't have to pay to take them off and get new ones. Too bad I only have the car for two more days.
I just saw the most freakin' hilarious video on YouTube of Andy Dick roasting William Shatner. My sides will be sore tomorrow.

Today is: the penultimate episodes of the summer Stargate seasons, the Teen Titans movie, and the first Next Gen episode I ever saw.
Tomorrow is: dinner and music at the Wildwood Cafe with Erica, maybe a movie with Mom, and hopefully a haircut.
Sunday is: as many of my friends over as I can get (up to two) for a final fling before I pack up my stuff and leave the nest.
Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday: packing.
I rented Star Trek: First Contact yesterday, and before I put it on I looked at the year on the tape. 1996. I know I saw that movie in the theater, and I find it almost impossible to believe that I wasn't quite fourteen at the time. Also, the show will be 20 years old next year. Damn.
Tonight Stargate SG-1 is going to overtake X-Files on number of episodes aired. How d'you like them apples, bitches!

Alas, poor Chewie. I knew him, Han Solo.
Aug. 5th, 2006 08:48 pmSomebody might be buying my old Cabriolet. I'll be sad to see it go because I just love that car. It only ever broke down on me once!
Currently on Book Two of the New Jedi Order (out of nineteen, if one doesn't count the two e-books, one of which I have). This book doesn't seem quite as bad as it did the last time I read it (though by no means is it great). Maybe reading all of it helps.
My room is a little bit of a mess because I've picked up a bunch of new clothes over the last few weeks and I have no place to put them. There are about a half dozen sweatshirts draped over my desk chair and t-shirts everywhere. It's not as bad as Sam's room. He doesn't have a floor.
I want to watch some Star Trek, dammit! I want to see Shatner back when he was good looking! I want to see Uhura in a miniskirt! I want to see Chekov in his Monkees wig! I CRAVE STAR TREK!!
I've also re-addicted myself to Spider Solitaire and it interferes with my reading. Whoops.

KHAAAAAAANN!!!!!
Aug. 4th, 2006 11:16 pmWatched part of Wrath of Khan on Spike last night. Man, I miss the old Star Trek. I miss my adorable Russian. It sort of dawned on me watching it this time just how bad everybody was. Ricardo Montalban obviously did a lot of Shakespeare in the sixties.
I almost finished my book but I got distracted by Eddie Izzard. Now I'm watching some movie on FX called Con Express that looks cheesy, but it's got the gorgeous Sean Patrick Flanery. His hair in the flashback part is so cute.
Daniel Jackson wasn't on Stargate tonight!!! I needs to have my Daniel! I don't care if he's having another baby, he'd better to be on next week! And he'd better get whumped this season, I swear to god, because I didn't get any last year!
