Some old day, when I have a lot of free time, I want to chart all the character relationships in Twin Peaks.

FROST / LYNCH REAL ESTATE

Proof that Torchwood's got some Twin Peaks in there. (That's not the first time I've seen those names on this show.)

Edit: Gwen Cooper. Gwen freaking COOPER. I am such a moron.

Somebody should fix the economy so I can get a damn job.

I am enjoying being home. My cat is happy. I'm finally more or less unpacked. I have my sonic screwdriver, my parents have been feeding me real food, and we've all been watching Twin Peaks. This will be the fourth time I've seen it.

Only three episodes of Doctor Who left! And with no proper full season next year!! ARG!

Also having an Atlantis marathon! Woot!

I really have no color sense, so it took me a long time to come up with this scheme. I like it, and I'm thinking I'll keep it for fall and change it back to blue for the winter.

SPEAKING OF FALL: It is my favorite season of the year, and since I started school in Eugene I don't get to enjoy the full effects at home like I used to. There's no smell of apples, somebody keeps blowing the leaves off the sidewalks (and I really wish they wouldn't; leaf imprint patterns look so cool later), and I'm usually too busy to notice how fall it is anyway. And really, it's a city, albeit a small one, and seasons are different in cities. While I do like having everything I need within the range of a brisk walk or a bus trip, I don't think I'll live in a city again when I finish school (whenever that may be). I like the peace and the quiet and the fresh air of the country too much. I'll deal with the isolation and how creepy it gets at night. I've been doing that all my life.

It looks like I'm coming up on watching Doctor Who S2 for the second time in as many weeks (although probably this time with the commentary tracks on). Jessica really wants to see Atlantis when we get back and I'm only too happy to oblige. As soon as we finish that (as well as the final two episodes of Firefly) I'm getting her addicted to the Doctor.

Damned if it isn't the summer of forgotten fandoms.

Homicide. Damn. Mom and Dad rented the first season when Mom had the carpal tunnel in one hand fixed, and we sort of got hooked. Again. Nothing puts a show in perspective when you watch it all in chronological order. Even when you've already seen every episode. And dammit, I missed Tim Bayliss like hell. As far as shows go, this one is perhaps one of my top ten ever. Same with my favorite character. He's not perfect, but that's part of the greatness of the show: it was realistic. Not to mention guest stars everybody from Elijah Wood to Bruce Campbell. The one thing about him that pissed me off most was Tim's now-and-again shaving of his head, like another favorite I could name. *coughNICKYcough* (Both in fifth season! He's got Bayliss-pattern baldness.) Speaking of which, I could watch some CSI again one of these days.

ReBoot. You've already heard this story. And I fell out again as soon as I heard it was coming back. Ironic.

ElfQuest. It was going pretty well until the Homicide binge. It's on hold temporarily (I hope). It pisses me the hell off that the one I most want to read is so rare these days that there's only ONE COPY for sale on the internet, period. And it's over two hundred bucks. The only other one I could find at all is at Eugene Public Library, which means I'm getting a card when I go back this September.

If things keep going like this, I'll probably start watching X-Files again (also known as My Deadest Addiction Ever).

Fandoms that are shiny and new for me this year:

Buffy (In and out. Mostly out. I like most of the characters, but I'm having trouble staying focused for long. I always try to watch it when I'm hooked on something else.)
Twin Peaks (I hooked Erica too! Now I have somebody to talk about it with)
Doctor Who (is it Christmas yet??)
I also watched half a dozen episodes of 21 Jump Street, but that didn't really go anywhere. Consider it marked defunct.
And I'm TRYING to watch Sanctuary.

I did NOT get around to reading the entire Harry Potter series. Maybe next year. Or this winter. Who the hell knows. I also do not yet have a copy of Stargate season 10, but I haven't been in a hurry to get at it. I finally saw the last episode. Man, that was weird. Just like everybody said.

My DW scarf is at least 6 feet long, and almost halfway done.

"Your ass is mine, Higby!"
"Screw you, Bayliss!

I just finished watching Twin Peaks and aside from the "ending" (which is what I was pissed about last night), the show has made it into my top five. I loved it so freaking much. It was AWESOME. I didn't know David Lynch could be funny. He himself played a recurring character who was hilarious. I also feel somewhat priviledged to know that I am probably one of relatively few people in the world who knows who killed Laura Palmer. And no, I'm not telling.

Favorite things about the show:
the Adorable/Gorgeous Kyle MacLachlan as eccentric Special Agent Dale Cooper
Agent Cooper and his coffee/cherry pie/jelly donut fixations
Deputy Andy, whose heart is bigger than his brain
David Lynch as Cooper's near-deaf boss, who shouts at everybody except for Shelley Johnson, who he can hear perfectly
Heather Graham as Annie, with whom Cooper was smitten at first glance
everybody who is married in Twin Peaks is having an affair with somebody else
secrets and lies in abuncance
David Duchovny in drag
creepy shenanigans in the woods
evil owls and talking logs
dark and creepy, yet often hysterically funny
Ted Raimi was in half an episode

Questions I still have:
What happened to Audrey, Pete, James, Donna, Josie, Annie, Leo, Nadine, Ed, Norma, and that one chick?
If the owls are not what they seem, then what are they, exactly?
Did the Black Lodge always look that way, or is that a recent thing?
Where on earth did Jerry go for the last bunch of episodes?
Why, in the name of everything good, if David Lynch had the chance to make a movie afterwards, did he make a PREQUEL?!?
Who the HELL is Diane??

Now that I've thoroughly confused everybody, I'm going to do something else for a while, and watch Dune later.

I want to see Blue Velvet again.

Do all my favorite characters have to turn evil or die this freaking week?? Seriously! I'm not watching anything new again, ever.
