FYI, my Firefly/Serenity video kicks some gorram ass. I've watched the series and the movie again, because I missed them a lot. I wish like hell there was more. My favorite character changed - not like I really had a definitely favorite, but Wash was pretty close, but then he and Simon duked it out and Simon won. But hell, he's still alive, so he's already got a leg up. And I always did like Simon.

I saw a preview online for the next Pirates movie, and I nearly died. I want May to come so bad it hurts. Then, of course, is July, with the Order of the Phoenix movie and THE LAST FREAKING HARRY POTTER BOOK. Summer is going to rock so hard.

I've started where I left off in the New Jedi Order, I think. It just sort of happened. Fine time too, when I won't have time to read for the next eleven weeks.

I, by the way, have pants that fit and new blue shoes that are bouncy so I can do swordfighting class and not get blisters or trip over my feet.

Two and a half gorram weeks until Stargate and you have no idea how excited I am.

Yesterday I spend the entire day in my pajamas, ate turkey, and watched Goblet of Fire with my mom. Today Mom and I went shopping. I bought two awesome coats and got lots of socks.  We each had peppermint mochas from Starbucks and they were yummy. I had turkey sandwiches for both lunch and dinner and started learning to knit. Tomorrow Mom may take me to pick out yarn and get my own needles. Once I get good I can make my own Gryffindor scarf and sweater.

bombs away!

Nine and a half pages and counting! I haven't been this focused on a story in longer than I care to say. I'm actually quite astonished that I'm meeting the three-page quota, especially since I never have started writing before nine pm. I think this one might be decent after a few revisions. I may post it when I'm finished (cross your fingers!). If I keep this up, it just might be the fastest I've ever written anything that wasn't an assignment. I had to put on my headphones tonight, though: you try writing with the world's noisiest cricked camped out right outside the window. Fortunately, I seem to concentrate well enough with five Smashing Pumpkins albums on shuffle.

Got yet another Pirates shirt today. You can never have too many. Also a Wizard of Oz, but turns out I need the next size up on that one. I'm an almost-universal medium. Almost.

I've got a new quilt of all Hawaiian fabrics that Mom made me. It's soooo gorgeous.

The pre-term anxiety dreams have begun already. So far I've dreamed that I was in an art history class, and that my dorm was not a dorm at all, but a very small bunk. If I hadn't had dreams like this before every single term for the two and a half years I was at Chemeketa, I might think something of it. They'll probably be more numerous this time because it's a new school I'm going to and it's the first time I'll be living away from home. But despite what my dreams may show, I'm actually really excited about it.

I've discovered recently that I really like some 70s style clothes, and not only that, but I look good in them too. I just got a vest that's faded navy-blue with large orange and white chevrons on the upper chest that looks like it's from a vintage store. It's also got a little peace sign stitched on the bottom. Someday I'm going to have such a retro wardrobe. And if I can learn how to do my hair like the time period I might do that once in a while too.

I became a total girl for a day and went shopping. I got Pirates stuff and a Superman shirt at Hot Topic and now my laptop has Jack Sparrow on the lid (along with the HRC logo, a Screaming Hats sticker, and the English flag). I also have a very cosy sweatshirt. Then I went next door to Buckle where I was treated to a personal shopper. It was kind of fun, especially when she found me pants that fit. They were quite expensive, but I think I know where I'm going for jeans from now on. And I got a kick-ass belt of bottle caps with a seatbelt buckle that I saw there months ago and really wanted. That should just about do it for my back-to-school shopping for a while. I'm sure to get more clothes in Eugene. At Borders I got a bunch of music plus King Kong and the director's cut of Kingdom of Heaven. Woohoo 3+ hours of Orlando Bloom!!

I actually didn't sleep on the ground last night. That was a lie.

Ack!

Holy crap! I missed a day! How did this happen???

I've been playing Escape from Monkey Island and learning Italian (not at the same time) and I found my brother's copy of Morrowind upstairs with the Bloodmoon and Tribunal expansion packs. What with that and all the writing I should get myself to do, and the big-ass puzzle, I maybe will not get too awfully bored this summer. I hope. The last time I played Morrowind the only thing I was really good at was getting killed. I've never been a very good adventure-gamer. Tetris. I was good at Tetris.

Yesterday I wore a new shirt to work that said "Marriage is a human right, not a heterosexual privilege." I didn't get into any fights like I was sort of expecting to, and most people didn't say anything about it, but the girl at Walgreen's wanted to know where she could get one. Sweet.
BTW, if the FMA makes it into the so-called Bill of "Rights" today, I am boycotting marriage in this country. I don't understand how people think that two men or two women getting married is going to hurt them. Like the other shirt says: if marriage is so sacred, ban divorce! And focus on your own damn family!

Last night I finally saw Charlie & the Chocolate Factory. I want that movie. Who could have thought Christopher Lee could ever play a character who wasn't bone-evil? Not me. Did anyone else get the Ed Wood joke in that movie, or was it just me?

Today is my day off for the week. I'd like to say I'll spend it writing, but for the 45 minutes I've been up, I've been a little spacey so I guarantee nothing. Even with coffee. The story's starting to bug me. I'm not sure how to start it, and even though I know that fixing stuff is what rewrites are for, I can't help but be critical the first time through. It's damn frustrating.

Yesterday I committed Wal-Mart and picked up a t-shirt with Shaggy carrying an armful of food and Scooby balancing a jar of salsa on his head, and below it says "got munchies?"
They'll love this in Eugene.
