Augustine: Dear God; How did you make heaven and earth? Why'd you do it? What were you doing before that? Are you outside of time? How does eternity work?
God: Who is this guy and why is he asking me so many questions?!
That's Augustine's Confessions in a nutshell. Except for the god part. I made that up. He couldn't answer anyway, because he's not really there.
