Last night I did part of a workout on FitTV with a European guy named Gilad. It was lots of fun, but awful hard to walk afterwards. Today I am mighty sore. I only did thirty minues, forty tops. I've lost quite a bit of muscle in the months I've spent sitting on my ass at home.
I've discovered that there are language-learning podcasts. Happy day! There aren't that many, so I took what I could get. I have French, Italian, and Mandarin Chinese. The French one is sort of hard to pronounce when I can't actually see the word, though I'm not sure that would help. The Italian one is a little boring, but it's a start. I like the Chinese one. It doesn't teach how to read or write it, but I can learn that elsewhere and I'm really not planning to go to China any time soon. The pronunciation is the tricky part anyway, and I wouldn't try to learn almost any language, especially Chinese, if I couldn't hear it. Now I can surprise my brother when he gets home and see if he remembers any. I think the person who does the Chinese podcast is French, but his pronunciation seems good enough. Unfortunately I'm having trouble downloading the episodes. Even so, I've got at least two other languages to learn. Yay, now I have something to do this summer!
