foundations of (lime)stone
May. 16th, 2006 01:20 pmThe first word that comes to mind when I think of the weather outside today is pleasant. I took my clipboard and pen outside to work on my story, and I might have stayed longer if I had not narrowly avoided becoming a bluejay's bathroom. I'm wearing my Gryffindor hoodie, and I'd like to keep it free of bird shite. Anyway, now I've moved back inside where I can be free of birds and bugs (who seem to be attracted to my hair product). It was nice while it lasted. There will be many more days this summer to work outside, and maybe some of them won't involve my paper blowing around so much.
Well, I have the beginning of my story more or less mapped out. But that's about it. I need to do some more general layout before I can make a full detailed outline. For instance, I have absolutely no idea what happens after the beginning, and only a foggy view of the area around where the end should be. I don't even have a solid antagonist yet. I definitely want to do an "over the shoulder" point of view, which follows one character. I don't think I've ever done it that way before, but I really like it in books I've read. It does make it near impossible to know what's going on elsewhere, but that can be solved by exposition from characters who were there.
I must go now and figure out the middle.
